Research Article(3)

Article 3- “Fear Of A Black President.” By: Coates, Ta-nehisi The author claims it not whether we are born equal; however the real question is does the white community have the entitlement to dominate politically and culturally? Coates agrees that they do have the right because whites have always been the, “advanced race.” The author states throughout the article that we fear the central change that has occurred in the oval office, Obama being the president. He supports this by using evidence; for example, after the election rallies for the nascent Tea Party broke out; protesters saying, “Obama plans white slavery.” Furthermore, using direct racial assault refers to Barack as an illegitimate president. Introducing the “birther bills” Coates presents an informative essay of the article. Although he does include his opinion in certain areas of this article; he does support his statements with evidence. Throughout the article he uses variety of rhetorical devices such as: alliteration, personification, allusion, antithesis, and etc. This is a well written essay and has exceptional creditability.
