Article 1- “Is Obama Making It Worse?” by: Romano, Andrew and Samuels, Allison The authors claim that America is still divided. Also what was suppose to be a racial progress of having a black president seems to be separating us even more rather than curtailing the racial issues. They argue that Obama did not cause the controversy, but, “He’s just the spark that sets them off.” Furthermore, states that President Barack is not at fault, but we are the ones to be blamed despite the president’s election African Americans and Caucasians are living in to separate worlds. In addition, the authors explain that whenever race issue goes to the media nationally everyone will be more divided than ever. The objective of this article was to persuade the readers to understand and agree with there point of view. Meanwhile, the audience targeted by Romano and Samuels are African American, President Obama, citizens of the U.S., Caucasians, and specific political parities.
